Tour of Ireland Summer Holiday 2014

By admin, November 6, 2019

Ireland is an amazing country, there is no better time to visit than the middle of the summer when we have 1 sunny day, normally around the end of July The only problem is the MASSIVE influx of British holidaymakers to this tiny island pushing up hotel prices. We have the solution… here is a little itinerary to see the best of Dublin at a great price. You can rent a car from Hertz or Enterprise for very little and the roads on the East Coast of Ireland are safe and modern (unlike the wild west) with wide lane Motorways and nobody on them The closest thing you will see in terms of traffic outside of Dublin is a Herd of Cattle crossing the road. Just remember to drive on the left, wave at the locals and stop to have a chat with ANYBODY you see walking in any little town, we love chatting to strangers, its not uncommon to hear what a total stranger has been up to that week and what they are doing for the rest of the day, just because you said hello We’re friendly like that. The same is not true of Dub’s, they are too busy secretly running Google and Microsoft.

Northern Ireland is only 90 minutes from Dublin, with its Rugged North Coast, the Giants Causeway, the famous Bushmills Whiskey Distillery is right near the causeway (visit the cliffs of the causeway FIRST haha) the distillery offers a ‘tasting’ opportunity, make sure you volunteer yourself for enough liqueur to warm the heart of even the best drinkers. Belfast is a charming city, with the Titanic Museum and crazy Northerners marching throughout the summer (best to avoid them).

A fine spa hotel on Dublin’s south side, relaxing and tasteful in a sought after Dublin Postcode, with good access in and out of the city, if you want to make the most of VAT Refunds (Tax back), Kildare Discount Designer Village is an hour away and nearby Newbridge Silverware is well worth a visit to pick up a special gift and to see some rather odd famous jewelry, including pieces made for Elvis and Michael Jackson. The Curragh Racecourse and National Park is right next to Kildare village and should be visited, if not for a refined day at the races, even just for a drive through the odd scenery of the Curragh, or join the locals for a jog with the sheep. Japanese gardens and The national stud is located here with Ireland’s envious heritage of some of the best Racehorses and trainers in the world.
